NEWSGROUPS
If you're new to newsgroups, then please read some newsgroup
faq's and the newsgroup for a few weeks before jumping in.
Personal attacks, ridiculing someone's spelling ( not everyone is American or English ), SHOUTING ( all caps ),>72 character lines, binaries outside of alt.binaries.*
crossposting to unrelated newsgroups etc. -
are all considered big no no's.
Also to remember is to _never_ trust the net with your life,
consult medical doctors on medical advice and gunsmiths on
weapons modification advice.
Never trust an explosives recipe or build a weapon based on
a Usenet blueprint.
Your best weapon for survival is your own brain - use it when deciding
the validity of any advice given on the internet or in real life.
If you're serious about surviving in a post TEOTWAWKI situation,
these newsgroups are a must, the people there are good people with
a lot of experience and knowledge.
misc.survivalism
rec.food.preserving
This group ( rec.backcountry ) _can_ be good,
but waaaay to much spam and ridiculous advice to base your survival skills on.
An example : a large portion of these guys think it's okay to cook food
using combustible fuels inside a closed tent - which will eventually either burn
down your tent or kill you from carbon monoxide poisoning.
